So you may be wondering, how do you make money blogging? Can you really make money blogging? How do bloggers make money ?
If this sounds like you, keep reading to find out.
Let’s dive right in.
SO WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY BLOGGING?
There are different ways to monetize your website, and most bloggers and website owners use a combination of different ways.
The best is eventually any of these different ways works for you the most.
Put simply, you can monetize your website by connecting the right person to the right product. There are 4 main ways to do that, which we will discuss below.
HOW MANY VISITORS DO YOU NEED TO MAKE MONEY ON A WEBSITE?
You don’t need a ton of traffic to make money with your website, but it does help. It is possible to make money with one page view, but it has to be the right person.
HOW MUCH MONEY CAN YOU MAKE FROM A WEBSITE?
One of the great things about blogging is that there is no income cap. Lots of other very successful bloggers regularly make 6 figure incomes from their blogs. – it takes time, dedication, and a lot of hard work, but it’s possible.
When I was a beginner, I used to think that the only way to make money blogging was using ads. But I was wrong.
It’s so important to create multiple streams of income. You can’t rely only on ads (or any other of the options I am about to show you). If you create multiple streams of income, you will be able to always have a good amount of money, even if one of your streams disappears or becomes less profitable.
Of course, you don’t need to implement all the monetization strategies, But make sure you rely on more than one.
Never put all of your eggs in one basket.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BUILD A WEBSITE?
It costs very little to build a website. Less than $5 a month.
BEST WAYS TO MAKE MONEY BLOGGING.
Let’s start with the most obvious way that bloggers make money: advertising.
It’s a simple strategy to get passive income, because in fact, after ads are placed, you don’t need to do anything.
You get income when people see or click on your ads. Your paycheck will however depend on different factors:
- Your traffic: ads are highly dependent on traffic. The more people visit your blog, the more people see your ads, and the more you get paid.
- Your niche: not every niche will earn the same amount of money. There are advertisers in certain niches who are willing to spend more on ads (i.e: real estate, finance…)
- Your ad network: not every network pays the same amount of money. If you meet certain requirements, you can join better networks and get paid more.
- The time of the year: you won’t earn the same amount of money all year. Bloggers tend to get more money from ads during the holidays since advertisers are willing to spend more during this time.
When you are a beginner, you will only be able to join Google Adsense, which doesn’t have traffic requirements. Then, as your traffic grows, you can apply for more premium networks, such as Monumetric (10k pageviews required) or Mediavine (25k sessions required).
Should you monetize with ads from the very beginning? My answer is no. Focus on user experience. Google Adsense doesn’t pay a lot, and it has a payout threshold of $100.
In the beginning, you won’t get a lot of traffic, and you will make $2-5 a month. You will most likely reach 10k pageviews before you reach $100 on Adsense. So, wait until you have more traffic and focus on your content in the meantime.
Here are the most popular ad networks for bloggers:
- Google AdSense: no minimum page views required
- Monumetric: 10K blog views monthly
- Mediavine: 50K sessions monthly
- AdThrive: 100K page views monthly
Affiliate marketing is another amazing way to make money blogging. It’s also one of the easiest way for beginners, because you don’t need to create anything from scratch.
So what is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is really just a way you can offer products and services without creating your own products.
So basically, you find a product or service that you like, preferably a product you have used so you can give a great review of it.
Promote this product or service to your readers using a unique link.
when someone makes a purchase by clicking on that unique link, you earn a commission.
Commissions vary from one affiliate to another.
Affiliate marketing is so much easier than having your own products because you only need to do two things:
- Write good content
- Recommend a product you are already using and loving
Keep in mind that every affiliate program has a different cookie length. Some cookies last longer than others.
However, it means that your reader needs to purchase the product before the cookie expires. If they purchase it after, you don’t get a commission.
The most important thing when it comes to blogging, especially if you are trying to make a living at it, is providing value to your readers by giving them quality and honest information.
As a rule, you have to provide awesome content to your readers, with information about products that will be relevant and helpful to them. Strive to provide value.
You should only recommend a product that you actually use, and that you honestly like.
If you are simply posting about anything and everything and your blog is one big ad, visitors to your site will see through it, and probably won’t come back.
Creating honest blog content with relevant and helpful product information will build trust with your audience.
Building trust is crucial in any business, your blog is no different!

They will benefit from your experience and get the right product for their needs.
CREATE DIGITAL PRODUCTS
Another way to make money blogging is by creating digital products.
What I love about creating digital products is that once you create a digital product, you can repeatedly sell them for an unlimited number of times.
You have no costs; the only thing you can lose is the time you spent creating the products.
This is a risk-free method, which is perfect for new bloggers that don’t have a lot of money to invest.
There are different digital products you can create, let’s see them:
If you like writing, and you have knowledge on a particular topic, you can create an ebook.
People are constantly looking for guides and books to learn new things.
Remember, your product needs to add value to your customers, so also focus on that.
If you are not ready to invest time to create an ebook, printables are the right solution for you. It takes less time to create a printable, and since they are so affordable, they sell really well.
The secret is to solve your audience’s problems with your printables, otherwise, no one will be interested. Think about what your audience needs, and turn it into a high-quality product.
Make sure that your printables are aesthetically pleasing, and check if there are any grammar mistakes.
Just do a market research, and create a product that your audience can print and enjoy.
For example, if you write about organization and productivity, you could create a printable planner. There are lots of ideas for every niche.
- STOCK PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Did you know that bloggers, YouTubers, and other content creators are often looking for stock photos and videos?
Another great way to make money blogging is by creating stock photos.
If you are a good photographer or videomaker, this could be the perfect monetization strategy for your blog.
Stock photos and videos are images/videos that anyone can license for creative use.
Not every content creator has the time or the skills to shoot their own photos and videos. That’s why there are successful memberships such as Ivory Mix.
As a blogger, I always need new images to create pins. I don’t have time to create hundreds of photos, and let’s be honest, photography is not my best skill. There are many people like me out there.
You don’t need to create a membership right away. You can simply create different packages and sell them individually on your website.
Another digital product that’s very requested is templates.
Social media templates for Instagram and Pinterest are incredibly requested because there are a lot of people who don’t like designing their own.
They want to have good looking posts and pins in a short amount of time. That’s why this is a perfect monetization strategy if you are creative.
You can create good looking templates with Canva.
You don’t necessarily need to be a professional graphic designer, since Canva is super easy to use, but make sure you know at least the basics of graphic design and you have a good sense of aesthetic.
Another awesome idea is to monetize your copywriting skills with templates by selling email copy, sales page copy, and social media captions copy.
- CREATE AN ONLINE COURSE
Creating an online course is another effective way to make money blogging.
While this is more time consuming compared to creating digital products, it can be way more profitable.
The average price of online courses is higher than the price of ebooks.
If you are ready to create more materials and put more time and effort into it, this is the right solution for you.
There is something important you need to keep in mind: in order to create a successful course, you need to be an expert, and your knowledge should help people get results. Your experience is your starting point.
Another highly effective way to make money blogging is by writing sponsored posts.
when you write a sponsored post on your blog, you write a post promoting a specific product or company for payment. You have to disclose sponsored posts that you write on your blog, just like affiliate links.
Your audience will appreciate being connected to the right product. However, I do not recommend writing sponsored posts often.
No one likes someone that is always trying to sell them something.
It’s also best to write sponsored posts for products that you have used. Always put the needs of your reader first.
You can either approach a company that you want to write a sponsored post for and pitch to them, or you can go through a blog network that provides sponsored posts. Some popular blog networks are:
- The Blogger Network
This is one of the easiest ways to make money blogging. If you are just starting, but you want to make money right away, why don’t you offer services?
Do you have a service you could offer on your blog?
You can offer and promote your services through your blog; it’s an amazing platform you can use to give potential clients a preview of what you can do.
If you have an expertise in an area you can use your blog as a platform to find clients for your service.
Common online services include:
- Virtual Assistant
- Freelance Writer
- Graphic Designer
- on line cooking lessons
- Home decorating consultants
- Lactation consultants
It’s much easier to find a few clients in the beginning and work one on one with them, compared to building a good amount of traffic to generate passive income on a regular basis.
Selling coaching services through your blog can definitely be a lucrative prospect. Whether you set yourself up as a life coach, a career coach or a business development coach, you can earn a significant income through just a handful of clients.
Start from affordable prices, because in the very beginning you need to start somewhere to accumulate experience and results. And then, you will see that you will be able to charge a lot more.
Email marketing is also one powerful method of making money from your blog. But to be successful, you need to build your list.
Whether you promote blog updates or create a lead magnet, utilize one of the more popular email marketing platforms like ConvertKit, or optinmonster to implement the systems necessary to begin marketing via email.
By building a strong bond and a connection with your readers, you can effectively generate a sizable amount of money through the course of marketing both your own products and services along with affiliate offers directly through email.
You can expect to generate approximately $1 per subscriber per month.
These are my favorite ways to make money blogging for beginners. Which of these ways will you be using to monetize your blog? Let me know in the comments.
